Here is what is included in each type of warranty offered by FARO®.
The following warranty plans do not apply to the:

Overview
Your FARO® device is a precision tool. Sending it to the factory for periodic calibration enhances its performance and accuracy. To make sending in your device easy and convenient, FARO offers several types of warranty plans. Here we provide details about plan options. All plans come in monthly or one-year packages.
NOTE: Misuse, abuse, wear and tear, environmental or natural disasters, and other unwarranted damages are not covered by any warranty plan.
Manufacturer's Standard Warranty
Available for Laser Projectors, 3D Imagers, Photonics hardware, and Hand-Held Scanners.
This plan is automatically applied upon purchase to any of the above listed products at no additional cost. The end date of this warranty coverage is always the exact day, one year after the initial ship date. This warranty plan includes the following coverage:
- Free technical support: email, phone, and self-help knowledge base
- Parts, labor, and return shipping charges *
- Service completion target of 7-14 working days from receipt of your device.
- Multi-point checkup with any service

Standard Warranty
Available for Laser Projectors, 3D Imagers, and Hand-Held Scanners.
This plan can be purchased to extend the benefits of the Manufacturer's Standard Warranty after it expires. It includes these benefits when scheduled in advance before the warranty expiration date.
- Includes everything in the Manufacturer's Standard Warranty
- One free annual cleaning, calibration, and re-certification with every year of warranty purchased
Premium Warranty
Available for Laser Projectors, 3D Imagers, and Hand-Held Scanners.
This plan can be purchased at any time during an active Standard or Manufacturer's Standard Warranty. It includes these benefits when scheduled in advance before the warranty expiration date.
- Includes everything in the Standard Warranty
- Shipping charges to and from the factory *
- Loaner device shipped the next business day for services other than annual cleaning, calibration, and re-certification
* Shipping charges exclude custom brokerage fees, duties, taxes, and VAT. EMEA customers located in zone 5 (customs countries located outside the EU) incur an additional yearly fee to cover shipping costs.
Premium Plus Warranty
Available for 3D Imagers
This plan can be purchased at any time during an active Standard or Manufacturer's Standard Warranty. It includes these benefits when scheduled in advance before the warranty expiration date.
- Includes everything in the Premium Warranty
- Loaner device shipped the next business day for all services, including annual cleaning, calibration, and re-certification
Keep Your Maintenance/Warranty Plan Current
By keeping your warranty current and active, you will gain peace of mind knowing that repair and service costs are completely covered. Loaner equipment is also available to minimize any potential downtime (Premium and Premium Plus plans only). Additionally, you will have access to our 24x7 self-help Knowledge Base, our personalized FARONow! portal and FARO certified customer support from experienced agents during normal business hours.
