Use and Handling Information for the Standard Serial FaroArm Probes
The recipe that we recommend for probe calibration is the 5-5-5-4-4-4 method. (27 points Total).
Half of the points are taken tangentially (with the probe pointing back towards the base of the arm), and half of the points are taken normally (with the probe pointing towards the center of the sphere). Also, half of the points are taken on one side of the long tube of the arm, and the other half are taken on the other side. You will periodically flip between positions. Basically, the recipe is as follows:
· 5 Tangential Around the Ball.
· Flip

· 5 Normal, East to West

· 4 Normal, East to West
· 4 Normal, North to South

Handling/Storage/Warranty
When using the standard probes, be sure not to apply excessive pressure on the tips. This may damage the shaft or ball on the end of the probe and may not be covered under the warranty plan. When the probe is not in use, disconnect it from the FAROArm and store in the case in order to reduce any potential damage. Should any damage occur due to neglect of proper storage or misuse, this will not be covered under the warranty plan. Refer to your Handbook or contact Customer Support directly regarding details of the warranty plan for your probes or other products. Probes are considered to be a consumable item and if worn because of use new probes should be purchased.
