We have found some incompatibility issues when using your computer's Bluetooth hardware along with the Microsoft Bluetooth host application. For those of you experiencing problems connecting to your Quantum FaroArm (connection drops, computer locks up) please check which Bluetooth application you are running.
Make sure you are running either Toshiba or Widcomm. Toshiba is available with Dell laptops and many Bluetooth Dongles. Widcomm is available with other computer brands and also with many Bluetooth dongles. Older Dell computers going to customers have the Toshiba application while newer ones have the Widcomm application.
We found that computers configured by IT for internal use in US were missing this driver. Corrective action was taken for new computers going forward.
If your Dell computer is using the Microsoft application, please go to the Dell support site and download the respective driver for your model. You are looking for the DELL Driver the applies to Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module For the Dell M90, here is the link.
Also verify that you have the latest Windows updates installed on your OS via Windows Updates.
After verifying that you are using the latest Bluetooth drivers and Windows updates and you are still receiving lag, you can possibly be using up resources on the computer to contribute to the lag.
For example, if you are using Measure Q software and there are multiple features on screen, ensure that that probe display is turned off (Edit > Preferences > Display > CAD View tab > uncheck "Always show probe").
