Working with Large Models in BuildIT
Overview
Working with large CAD models can present processing challenges for any computer. However, if you are working with a very large model or an under-powered computer like a Microsoft Surface, you can reduce the size of the CAD model within BuildIT for a smoother and more responsive interaction.

Hiding and Deleting Surfaces by Size
Build has many methods for selecting CAD geometry, the "Put in NoShow by Size" function is particularly useful when working with CAD models that contain large amounts of detail features such as filets, chamfers, and small holes that are not critical or needed for analysis.
All surfaces smaller than the specified threshold will be hidden from display. Depending on the number of surfaces selected, this should reduce the load on your computer and improve performance. |
For an additional performance gain, you may also delete (if no longer needed) all the hidden surfaces using the Object Manager.
All selected surfaces will now be deleted and removed from memory to further reduce the load on your computer and improve performance. |
