SCENE Project Export with CAD Objects Leads to Data Loss

Overview

Loading and performing final export of As-Built™ Modeler projects with CAD objects in SCENE leads to data loss. This happens because SCENE doesn’t recognize CAD objects as CAD objects, so they are not marked as such upon exporting.

Solution

A project export contains two steps: First, creating a copy of the project file and naming it with the name of the export project; second, deleting the revision history, so that only the current revision remains.

• The first step, copying and renaming the project folder, can be performed manually.
• The second step, removing the revision history from SCENE, cannot be done without loss of CAD information.

In cases where the revision history needs to be removed, the export function in As-Built Modeler can be used as a safe alternative.
