BuildIT Projector Network License Activation

Overview

To activate a new BuildIT Network License, install the HASP driver and RUS tools below on the server PC. Use the Sentinel Administration Control Center to configure the network license PC. Install BuildIT software on the client PCs, and configure those PCs using the Sentinel Administration Control Center as detailed below. 

Download and Unzip the Latest HASP Driver and RUS

  1. Download the latest HASP license driver and the Gemalto RUS Licensing Tool.
  2. Save and unzip both files to a folder on the C: drive named BuildITHASP.

Install the Latest HASP Driver

  1. Click Windows Start, and in the search field type command and press Enter. The Command Prompt window appears.
  2. If the command prompt is pointing to C:\>, skip this step. If the command prompt is not pointing to C:\>, type one of these commands.
    • If your prompt is pointing to a drive other than C, type c: and press Enter.
    • If your prompt is pointing to C but is not at the root, type cd\ and press Enter.
  3. At the C:\> command prompt type cd BuildITHASP and press Enter.
  4. Type haspdinst.exe -i -fi -kp -fss and press Enter to run the HASP driver installer. Note: Make sure you type a space after haspdinst.exe.
  5. Open an Internet browser and go to http://localhost:1947 to test that you have access to the Sentinel Admin Control Center.

Activate License Keys on Server

  1. On the server, in the folder where you stored RUS, double-click RUS_NNQVC.exe to run it.
  2. Click the Collect Key Status Information tab, check Installation of new protection key and click Collect Information to generate a C2V file. Store the C2V file in the same folder with RUS_NNQVC.exe.
  3. Email the generated C2V file to: support@builditsoftware.com. You will receive a corresponding V2C file. Store it in the same location as the C2V file.
  4. On the server, run RUS_NNQVC.exe again.
  5. Click the Apply License File tab.
  6. Click the ... button in the bottom-right corner and browse to the location where you stored the V2C file.
  7. Select the V2C file and click Open.
  8. Click Apply Update to activate the keys.

Enable Server to Accept Remote License Access

  1. Open a web browser on the server PC.
  2. Type http://localhost:1947 to open the Sentinel Admin Control Center.
  3. In the Options panel on the left, click Configuration.
  4. Click the Access from Remote Clients tab.
  5. Select Allow Access from Remote Clients.
  6. Click Submit.

Verify Network License Setup

  1. Open a web browser on the server PC.
  2. Type http://localhost:1947 to open the Sentinel Admin Control Center.
  3. In the Options panel on the left, click Products.

On this page, you should now have a new BuildIT product shown (Vendor ID: 2147484). A network license should have a red arrow next to the Vendor ID under the Vendor column and a Detach option under the Actions column.

 

Get the Server IP Address

  1. On the server, click the Windows Start button and in the search field type Cmd. Press Enter. The Command Prompt window appears.
  2. At the prompt, type ipconfig and press Enter.The IP address appears in the Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection: section on the line labeled IPv4 Address.
  3. Write down the IP address as you will enter it to enable each client computer to access remote license keys.

Download and Install the BuildIT Software on Computers

  1. On each computer, check the Microsoft Windows operating systems compatibility.
  2. Download the latest BuildIT software on the computers.
  3. Double-click the BuildIT software setup.exe file and follow the prompts to install the software.

Note: When the installation is complete, do not open the BuildIT software as it cannot yet access the remote keys.

Enable Computers to Access Remote License Keys

  1. On each client computer, open an Internet browser and go to http://localhost:1947 to open the Sentinel Admin Control Center.
  2. In the Options panel on the left, click Configuration.
  3. Click the Access to Remote License Managers tab.
  4. Select Allow Access to Remote Licenses and Aggressive Search for Remote Licenses.
  5. If you want to force the search for a specific server IP address, un-check Broadcast Search for Remote Licenses. This is particularly appropriate when using a VPN connection.
  6. In the Remote License Search Parameters field, enter the IP address of the server.
  7. Click Submit.

Verify Access to Remote License Key

Open BuildIT software to confirm that the client computer automatically finds a key on the server without asking for a key or running on a trial license.

OR

  1. Open a web browser on the client PC.
  2. Type http://localhost:1947 to open the Sentinel Admin Control Center.
  3. In the Options panel on the left, click Products.
  4. The BuildIT product should be visible in the list with the server computer name (rather than Local) under the Location column.

A network license should also have a red arrow next to the Vendor ID under the Vendor column and a Detach option under the Actions column.
