Image Tiling in FARO Zone 3D
Overview
When importing a large image into FARO Zone 3D 2019.5 or later versions, you can maintain image quality by tiling the image.
Details
FARO Zone 3D has an image size limit that’s based on available memory. When this limit is hit, the imported image’s resolution is lowered so that it can be loaded successfully. To avoid lowering image resolution, you will have the option to load the image as a full-resolution, tiled image.
Automatic Image Tiling
- When importing an image that is too large for FARO Zone 3D, you will be asked if you would like to use image tiling to create a full resolution image. Click Yes to start the tiling process.
- Tiled images require a project folder. You will be prompted to name your project and give it a folder location or select a preset folder.
- When complete the full-resolution, tiled image, will appear. Click the image in the project to see the individual tiles. Click Explode in the image properties window to separate the individual tiles and edit them individually.
Note: No tiles are created where there is no image data.
