Exports to the United States
Overview
When our customers send a unit for return or repair, FARO® has specific procedures that have been implemented to help ease the process for our customers and minimize shipping delays. This article is solely for customers that do not have an Ultimate Uptime Warranty and shipping Internationally.
Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP) is the United States’ primary border enforcement organization and authorize and facilitate border trade between countries. Exports to the U.S. must go through this process before they can be cleared for importation.
When our customers send a unit for return or repair, FARO® has specific import procedures that have been implemented to remain compliant to the regulations, but also help ease the importing process for our customers and minimize the delays in customs.
Every export to the United States needs a commercial invoice for CBP to analyze what is being shipped. It is imperative that the information provided to the customer is relevant to what is being shipped to avoid clearance issues, post entry amendments, penalties, and fees. Please contact FARO Trade Compliance with any questions.
Required Commercial Invoice Information
The following information must be included on all export documentation to the US:
- Ultimate Consignee
- RMA number (if applicable)
- Incoterm (see RMA Warranty/Non Warranty Shipping Instructions)
- Description & Serial Number
- HTS Classification (provided below)
- Country of Manufacture/Origin
- Value – Original purchase price
- Loaner units – please email FARO Trade Compliance
If an FDA form is required to ship your asset, please download the form provided. The Accession Number and Name of Manufacturer for each asset is prefilled on each form and is provided below:
