Laser Safety
The FARO® Leap ST emits both a visible and infrared laser beam. The laser is classified as a Class 2M. Operation of the device requires the operator to avoid direct exposure to eyes at all times. Although the human blink reaction to bright light provides a natural mechanism of protection to this visible laser beam, use caution while handling the LLP by pointing it at only the target object.
- Do not stare at the laser and specular light
- Do not intentionally point the laser towards people, especially the eyes
- Pay attention to the reflected light path of the laser. The laser will be specular and diffuse
- Do not use a concentrator, magnifying glass or microscope to observe the laser output within 100mm
- This product does not have a mechanism to turn off the laser irradiation when disassembling, do not attempt to disassemble
