Capturing Colored Data with ZEB Cam and ZEB Vision
Overview
The following article provides basic guidelines for capturing colorized data using the ZEB Cam and ZEB Vision.
ZEB Vision
This camera can be used with the ZEB Horizon ONLY.
The ZEB Vision uses a 4K panoramic camera to capture images of a scanned area. To ensure these images are high quality and will lead to the best colorization output, please take the following into consideration when scanning:
- Before beginning a scan, make sure the camera is fully connected to the scanner head using the cables provided
- Whilst scanning, walk at a slower than average pace to minimize the amount of blurriness in the images
- Whether capturing handheld or using a backpack, ensure a smooth data capture to maximize the quality of images
- For more information on how to capture data using the ZEB Vision, please consult the hardware guide here.
ZEB Cam
This camera can be used with the ZEB Go, ZEB Revo, ZEB Revo RT or ZEB Horizon.
The ZEB Cam uses a 2K camera to capture a video of a scanned area. To ensure this video is high quality and will lead to the best colorization output, please take the following into consideration when scanning:
- Before beginning a scan, make sure the ZEB Cam is on and the cable is fully plugged in
- Whilst scanning, walk at a slower than average pace, pointing the camera to the features you are capturing
- Keep a steady hand to ensure a smooth data capture to maximize the quality of the video
- Stop for 5 seconds every minute to increase video coverage and quality
- When scanning, move the scanner side to side and create arcs in order to maximize the coverage of the area in the video
