ZEB Horizon Failing to Start Properly
Overview
This article explains how to solve the problem whereby the scanner LED flashes orange and then turns red, instead of turning green.
Symptoms
- When the user starts the scanning process, the scanner LED flashes orange before flashing red instead of green.
- The user has to start the scanning process again.
Solution
This usually happens because the unit is not stable - for example, it is placed on a non-planer surface, or a soft surface like a carpet - causing it to wobble as the internal laser unit rotates.
- Try placing the unit on a firm, level surface, such as a desk, table, windows sill or tiled floor.
- Additionally, this issue has been seen in a small number of cases where the ZEB Horizon reference base / plate is a slightly loose fit on the handle. If you think this may be the cause of the problem, please notify GeoSLAM Support with your ZEB Horizon serial number.
