The User Interface in BuildIT Construction
Objective:
Learn the interface of BuildIT Construction and its functionality.

General Interface
- Below is the default view when the software is opened.
Software components
- Menu Bar
- Contains all commands in BuildIT and appears just below the title bar.
- Tool Bars
- There are several toolbars available which are based off available commands from the menu bar.
- Workbenches
- In addition to tool bars, major workflows also have a workbench. Each workbench has toolbars with relevant commands useful in each workflow.
- Viewport
- All data imported will be visible in the viewport. There are shortcuts for viewing, which will be explained in detail in a later module.
- Manager, Command, Report
- The manager panel provides a tree view of the contents of the entire model, allowing objects to be selected and modified. The lower section is object properties, which will give different options depending on the object selected.
- All commands have different forms. Some will request text or numerical values to be entered and some will require selection of objects from the viewport or manager. The current field will highlight yellow, indicating user input to that field.
- Report is where data can be exported to a customizable report.
- Messages and Spreadsheet
- Messages (F3) will display several useful pieces of information such as results, logs, errors, warnings, and other pieces of information.
- Spreadsheet (F4) includes detailed geometric information about the model. The data shown can be customized by right clicking the top row containing attribute names.
Shortcuts
- Keyboard shortcuts and available toolbars can be customized by right clicking the tool bar and selecting “Customize”
