Customizing the Ribbon in CAM2

Overview

You can customize the CAM2 2018 Ribbon to arrange the tabs, command groups, and commands as needed to define your own workflow. Use this option to show and hide tabs on the ribbon, add or delete command groups for a tab, add, rearrange, and remove commands on each tab.

As review, at the top of your screen are your Default Tabs or Pages containing the basic commands that you will regularly use.

Quick Steps

1. Right-click the ribbon and select Customize Ribbon.
   
   
   
   You will be presented with the Ribbon Customization window:
   
   
   
   The left side of the Ribbon Customization window contains a list of all available commands.
   
   Use the drop-down to switch between "All tabs" or "All items".
   
   
   
   The right side of the window contains a view of all existing tabs and the command groups for each tab. 
   
   
    
2. Highlight Default category or command, and click New > New Page to create a new (empty) tab.
   or
   Highlight a tab and select New > New Group to add a new (empty) command group to the tab.
   
   
   
   Alternatively, you can right click to add a new page or new group, as well as other functions, such as Renaming or Removing a page or group.|
   
    
    
3. Next, use the arrows in the middle to add, remove and rearrange commands.
   
   Highlight a command on the left side of the window, such as Polyline and click the right arrow button to add the command to a group, My Project, on the right side.
   
   
   
   OR
   
   Highlight a command on the right side of the window and click the left arrow button to remove the command from a group.
   
    
4. Click the up and down arrow buttons to reorder a highlighted command within a tab.
