FaroArm USB Driver 6.11.77 - November 2025
Enhancements/Additions:

Bug Fixes:
- Addressed bug where Prizm LLP would not scan texture when 8-Axis was enabled

FaroArm USB Driver 6.11.21 - February 2025
Enhancements/Additions:
- Optimized connectivity speed to FaroArm.
- Improved sampling speed during SPAT.
- SPAT improved to collect points based on set locations throughout range of Arm; previously, SPAT was dependent on location of the first point.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed bug where in certain positions, SPAT could only initiate if elbow was more than 90 degrees from surface normal, when it should initiate when the elbow is 90 degrees from the surface normal.

FaroArm USB Driver 6.10.48 - May 2022
Enhancements/Additions:
- Added a “Clear Probes” button to the Probe Management window.
- Allow users to set gateway on static IP address configuration for the use case where PC and FaroArm will be in different networks.
- Allow users to connect to FaroArms over Ethernet by providing its IP address.
- Updated instructions for Base Deflection test.
- Discontinued support for Windows 32 bit systems.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed performance issues related to LLP scanning on Wi-Fi with Quantum V1/V2 and Quantum Max (firmware 820.12 recommended).
- Addressed performance issues when Reflection Filter was enabled in LLP Settings with Quantum Max.
- Fixed 2 issues in Base Deflection diagnostic:
- Data displayed was not shown over time.
- After recording, red button will stop the test instead of clearing the results.
- Resolved issue with Edge Arms where i-Probe could not be selected when i-Probes are disabled in Probe Management.

FaroArm USB Driver 6.9.12 - August 2021

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue where connecting a Quantum Max Arm with Driver 6.6.7 or earlier creates files that could affect accuracy with Driver 6.7.63 or newer.
- Addressed issue where hard probes could not be selected in FaroArm Manager with legacy Arms
- Fixed issue in FaroArm Manager where LLP Calibration is listed as
“Invalid” when it is not the Active (selected) Probe
- Resolved issue where uninstalling the Driver for non-English languages would not execute properly

FaroArm USB Driver 6.8.9 - July 2021
Enhancements/Additions:
- Added “Working Volume Limit Warning” in FaroArm Manager under
Hardware Configuration. User will now be notified when measuring
outside the manufacturing-specified working volume of the Arm. If toggled on, measurements will be prohibited; if toggled off, measurements will be permitted. Quantum Max users only.
Known Issues:
- When Quantum Max is connected to a computer using Driver 6.6.7 or earlier, then user updates to 6.7.63 or newer, the Quantum Max will not measure accurately. Current workaround is to go to "C:\ProgramData\FARO\FaroArmUsb" and delete the two .JSON files for the respective FaroArm serial number

FaroArm USB Driver 6.7.63 - July 2021
Enhancements/Additions:
- Support for Quantum Max and FAROBlu xR, xP and xS
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue where Prizm would not scan texture when Algorithm is set to HDR
- Addressed issue where FaroArm USB Driver would not complete if driver is running in the background
- Fixed issue where Driver would not create the directory “C:\ProgramData\FARO\FaroArmUsb”
- Resolved issue where switching LLP Algorithm from HDR to Fixed exposure sets maximum exposure at 500 instead of 4000.

FaroArm USB Driver 6.6.7 - December 2020
Enhancements/Additions:
- Multi-language (international) release
- Added feature in Plane Compensation procedure (during LLP Compensation) that requires user to move at least 3mm away from the plane before pushing the red button to finish the routine. If the user does not move more than 3 mm, the user will be prompted to move the probe in the proper direction before the routine can be completed.
- Added ability to create an Event Log Package within FaroArm Manager. Under Diagnostics a new “Generate Support Data” button exists in the bottom left hand corner.
- Added check where driver installation verifies that Arm is not actively communicating to the computer before running the installation. If it is, user will be asked to close FAROATLServer5 before continuing.
- Improved response time when modifying settings related to a TP-20.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue in FaroArm Manager where legacy Arms would not show any probes in Probes Manager if any of the probes had a unique non-English character in its title
- Addressed issue where warning for a missing i-Probe was shown when the LLP is the active probe. NOTE: If a software does not make the LLP the active probe, you may still get the missing i-Probe message, but the LLP can and will still activate.
- Resolved issue where FaroArm event entries in the event log were reporting the Windows OS as Windows 8 on a Windows 10 OS system
- Fixed issue in LLP Compensation where “Probe Twist” indicator on a German installation was displayed incorrectly due to the translation of the text.
- Resolved issue where legacy Arm users could not successfully modify the settings of a TP-20 under “Edit Probe”

FaroArm USB Driver 6.5.0.11 - November 2019
Enhancements/Additions:
- Added High Density Mode, which doubles the point count along the laser line (for FAROBlu HD and Prizm LLPs with firmware with 703.8 and newer)
- Added Max Scan Rate bar, which helps limit the maximum frame rate speed (for FAROBlu LLPs with firmware 750.X and newer)
- Improved Windowing Mode for LLP. When depth of field is now reduced, frame rate increases substantially. (for FAROBlu LLPs with firmware 750.X and newer)
- Added “Frame/Second” to LLP Rangefinder UI (for FAROBlu LLPs with firmware 750.X and newer)
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue where offset was not being applied correctly during Probe Compensation with Angular Adapter
- Fixed issue where 8-Axis compensation results would intermittently crash FaroArm Manager

FaroArm USB Driver 6.4.1.2 - August 2019
Enhancements/Additions:
- Added a warning to users when a custom diameter of 0 is used that affirms the customer is using a 0 diameter probe and if he/she is not, should input the true value of the ball diameter.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed issue where user could not connect to a wireless network that was password protected.
- Addressed issue where the IP address is not recalling correctly when attempting to configure a network connection using Wi-Fi to PC option in FaroArm Manager
- Fixed issue in Hardware Configuration where the battery status was not reporting the correct state and percentages of the batteries.
- Fixed issue where Wi-Fi to PC toggle in FaroArm Manager could not be disabled.
- Resolved issue where FaroArm Manager would crash when the LLP range finder was maximized.
- Corrected issue on Prizms where modifications to Movement Filter were not properly reflected in LLP Settings (but were still being applied upon saving).
- Resolved error where Edge was reporting LLP connectivity when connected via Wi-Fi.

FaroArm USB Driver 6.4.0.7 - June 2019
Enhancements/Additions:
- Implemented new Guidance Compensation Routine for 6-Axis Quantum users

Bug Fixes:
- Addressed Arm Compensation issue where compensation was not correctly applied after compensation was completed (NOTE: Quantum S requires firmware 814.15 or newer)
- Fixed synchronization issue where settings within Range Finder were not reflecting the current settings
- Fixed issue where stress warnings from 8-Axis were not being reported when connected to Edge Arm
Known Issues:
- In Hardware Configuration, status of the battery is not updating correctly. Correct workaround is to refer to the battery LEDs or the LED indicators on the base.
FaroArm USB Driver 6.3.1.5 - February 2019
Enhancements/Additions:
- Improved performance in systems specifically experiencing delays during probe compensation
- Removed Gateway configuration when user is setting up Ethernet configuration. By design, the Arm is expected to be in the same network as the PC it’s connected to.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed issue where TP-20 probes on the Edge series arms were inoperative during the plane measurement portion of the LLP Compensation routine
- Fixed issue in Probes menu where LLPs can be starred (as a favorite) but
not shown in the “My Probes” tab
- Resolved bug in Quantum series arms where selecting a disconnected i- Probe in FaroArm Manager while a custom probe was connected would transfer properties of the former probe to the latter probe.
- Addressed issue in CAM2 2018 where probe changes performed in FaroArm Manager on legacy Arms did not update properly in the CAM2 Device Center

FaroArm USB Driver 6.1.0.21 - February 2018
Enhancements/Additions:
- Implemented a new Laser Line Probe Compensation Routine that utilizes near and far field measurements, resulting in improved repeatability and point cloud alignment amongst passes.

- Implemented an updated Single Point Articulation Test (SPAT) Routine for Quantum M and S users that is ISO 10360-12 compliant. Users will now be asked to sweep the elbow left and right before a (Max-Min)/2 calculation occurs. For 7 axis users, a 180 degree rotation of the 7th axis is recommended in between sweeps.

- Added the ability for Quantum M and S Arms to be used with an LLP only (i.e., sans i-Probe)
- Added new “Angular Adapter” option for probe compensation. This option helps Quantum and Edge users effectively characterize the location of an angled probe extension, which then can be used by a software if it is being visually represented.
- Compensations older than 30 days are now showing as invalid
- Compensation log now lists the method of compensation and whether guidance was used or not
- Added High Precision Mode in LLP Settings for Quantum ScanArm users
- Driver version is now listed under Hardware Configuration

- Fixed issue where LLPs could not be disabled properly when switching to a hard probe in FaroArm Manager
