How Accuracy Is Affected between near Distance and Far Distance Scanning from a Laser Line Probe
FARO® does not have a calculation or formula for this. Accuracy is affected by many factors such as surface texture, color, angle of incidence, etc. The main difference between near and far field scanning is point spacing/density. In near field scanning, points will be closer together than in far field due strictly to the optical nature of the device. Also, camera focus is fixed so it will lose resolution as you move farther away from the source.
