Assembly Guides for ZEB Cradle
Overview
The cradle is used to lower any ZEB handheld solution into underground and difficult to access areas. The datalogger is also mounted onto the cradle meaning there are no restrictions due to cabling.

Recommendations
- If you’re capturing in a small, narrow environment make sure there are geometric features for the SLAM to register. Be aware that any narrow channels will limit the range of the scan due to the angle of incidence between the scanner and the feature.
- If you are lowering the system underground using a rope or chain, you may wish to attach a secondary rope or chain to reduce the whole system from rotating too much which will interfere with the scan.
- The cradle has been tested in a feature rich environment up to 250m, we do not recommend lowering any more than this as it may reduce SLAM quality.
- None of the ZEB solutions are waterproof so please be aware of underground bodies of water before lowering any of the systems. GeoSLAM takes no responsibility for water damaged systems.
- The ZEB Horizon system (Gen 1 and Gen 2 dataloggers) and the Gen 2 Revo RT datalogger use the universal mounting plate to affix the components onto the cradle. For further information on this accessory, please visit the Additional Accessories page.
