GeoSLAM Additional Accessories
Overview
Listed below are a few of the additional accessories available for the ZEB product line.
Spherical Targets
GeoSLAM sells two types of sphere kits. These are used to georeference the data by placing the spherical targets above known coordinates. Using the sphere detection tool in GeoSLAM Draw we can detect the centre of the sphere and input the associated GPS positions.
Standard spherical target kits contain four spherical targets as well as magnetic pedestals. There is also a pro option which includes tribrach adapters and mini prisms in addition to the contents of the standard kit. The pro option makes it much easier to determine the centre point of the spheres.
The ZEB Revo and ZEB Revo RT do not collect intensity data so using spherical targets is recommended when georeferencing the data. You can also use a reference plate for the same procedure.
Reference Bases
Reference bases are included in the purchase of all ZEB handheld scanning devices, including ZEB Pano. In addition to the plates, there is also a hex key and screw to help affix the plate to each scanner.
On each plate there are crosshairs which can be used to position the reference base on known locations. Once the reference base and scanner are above the known position leave the system static for a minimum of ten seconds, ensuring that geometric features are still visible by the scanner, this will generate a reference point which can later be used to aid georeferencing the data.
Universal Mounting Plate
The Universal Mounting Plate is used to mount the ZEB Horizon system onto the following ZEB accessories:
- Backpack frame (using V-mounts)
- V-Dock
- ZEB Cradle
- ZEB Pole
This item is shipped as standard with these accessories. An insert is also included with each shipment which highlights which mounting holes correspond to each element of the Horizon system (scanner head and datalogger) and associated accessory.
The Universal Mounting Plate is also suitable for the ZEB Revo RT Generation 2 datalogger when being used with the cradle.
