Calibration Issues Using a V1 Laser Line Probe
If you are frequently failing calibration of a V1 LLP, make sure to check the 2 Sigma Values before requesting further action. The firmware of certain V1 LLP were originally programmed to have a passing requirement (green light) of 50 microns when it should’ve been 100 microns, which is within spec of V1 LLP standards.
If a V1 LLP calibrates to a 2 Sigma of 100 microns or less, but receives a red light indicating failure, it is STILL useable. And this should not affect measurements. To resolve, send an e-mail to FARO’s Customer Support with the LLP’s serial number so the information can be routed to Engineering to have a new *.exe file for this specific LLP to reprogram it with the correct passing specifications.
If the V1 LLP's 2 Sigma is indeed out of range, feel free to contact Customer Service to run through LLP diagnostics.
