Discontinuation of the support of FAMOS and Archikart CAFM in As-Built for AutoCAD Software

Overview

FamosArchikart_discontinued.pngSince 2007, FARO (which acquired kubit GmbH in 2015) has been proud to offer bi-directional interfaces to the CAFM systems FAMOS and Archikart. These interfaces allow to use As-Built for AutoCAD as graphical frontend for capturing and updating facility management data in the two mentioned CAFM systems.

Unfortunately, due to technical restrictions and cost-benefit considerations, we had to decide to discontinue the development and maintenance of the two interfaces. This effects As-Built for AutoCAD starting with version 2022.0 planned for mid of 2022.

Why are the interfaces to FAMOS and Archikart being discontinued?

The interfaces to FAMOS and Archikart are using techniques for sending/receiving data, which had to be maintained carefully for every new version of the target applications. FAMOS and Archikart are CAFM systems with globally limited distribution.

With respect to the maintenance effort and the relatively small user group, we decided to discontinue the support and invest our resources into functionality that benefits larger groups of our customers.

Is there a replacement the interfaces to FAMOS and Archikart?

There is no replacement. Users of FAMOS and Archikart can continue using older As-Built for AutoCAD versions that support AutoCAD up to version 2022.

What will be the last version As-Built supporting FAMOS and Archikart?

As-Built for AutoCAD 2021 is the last version with a direct interface to FAMOS and Archikart.
