Change the Startup Language of CAM2
Overview
In this article you can find detailed information on how to change the startup language for CAM2.
Change the CAM2 Startup Language via InTouch
This is the standard procedure. The language is set automatically to your system language when you install InTouch on your computer. However, you can change the language of all applications that you can access via InTouch with a few clicks.
- Open InTouch.
- Click the
icon at the top right to open the Settings panel.
- Open the Language dropdown list and select the language you want.
- Click the icon again to close the Settings panel.
The language is now set for all applications that you can access via InTouch.
LEGACY: Change the CAM2 Startup Language in the File System
NOTE: If you use InTouch, it is recommended to use the procedure described above.
- Go to the following folder location on your computer: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming.
- This is a hidden folder, i.e. you must type this path into the Windows Explorer path bar.
- Locate and delete the FARO Technologies folder.
- Go to: C:\Program Files\FARO\CAM2\Channels\Stable\Current.
- Locate and right-click the FARO.CAM2.exe file.
- Select Create Shortcut from the context menu
- Drag the newly created shortcut onto the desktop.
- Right-click the new desktop shortcut and select Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, click into the Target field, and add [space]-culture:<language_code> directly after "C:\Program Files\FARO\CAM2\Channels\Stable\Current\FARO.CAM2.exe".
- For example, "C:\Program Files\FARO\CAM2\Channels\Stable\Current\FARO.CAM2.exe" -culture:DE
- For example, "C:\Program Files\FARO\CAM2\Channels\Stable\Current\FARO.CAM2.exe" -culture:DE
- Click OK.
- You can create further shortcuts if required.
