Tutorials for Fire Zone and Insurance Zone
Overview
This article contains various tutorials that will aid you in using your FARO® Fire Zone and Insurance Zone software. For quicker navigation, you can click a link below to be navigated to the corresponding section in the article.
3D Intersection Tutorial
In this tutorial, we will introduce all the drawing features you need to create an accurate, 3D drawing of an intersection from a point cloud data file. Point cloud data files are typically obtained by using a 3D laser scanner to scan and area and record the resulting X,Y,Z point data. Click here to learn more
Advanced 3D Tutorial
This tutorial covers many of the advanced tools and procedures used to create 3D diagrams in your CAD Zone diagram program. We will create a room with a door, a window, furniture, a body a bullet hole with trajectory, and more, all in 3D. Click here to learn more.
Advanced Traffic Tutorial
This tutorial guides you through the process of creating an advanced traffic collision diagram. It presents you with more powerful commands and features that are used in accident reconstruction diagrams. Click here to learn more.
Animation Tutorial
This tutorial guides you through the process of creating a simple animation in The FARO Crash Zone or The FARO Crime Zone. The Animation tutorial applies to the creating simple animations and using the Animation Viewer; no lessons on drawing the initial 2D diagram are taught here. In this tutorial, you will be practicing your Animation techniques on a sample drawing called "Animation Time and Distance Project.czd" which was copied to your hard disk when you installed your program. Click here to learn more.
Basic 3D Tutorial
This tutorial will introduce just a few of the 3D features included in the drawing program. Click here to learn more.
Crash Reconstruction Tools Tutorial
With Crash Zone (or Crime Zone), you will be able to create Irrefutable diagrams and animations based on calculations that match the physical evidence measured at the scene. The crash reconstruction tools allow you to perform and report complex functions in a clear, logical manner that a jury can understand. Click here to learn more.
Fire-Investigation Tutorial
This tutorial introduces many features that you would use to create a diagram of a fire scene, like those typically used in a fire investigation. Many of the images in this tutorial were recorded using The Crash Zone program. All of the features work exactly the same way in The Fire Zone and The Crime Zone, so any of these applications can be used to create a fire investigation diagram. Click here to learn more.
Homicide Tutorial
The following tutorial guides you through the steps of creating a Homicide Investigation diagram with The Diagram Program. Even if this sample diagram is not exactly like the diagrams you normally create, this tutorial provides the hands-on experience you need to create your own diagrams. Once you complete these exercises, you will be ready to apply the basic Diagram Program commands to create your own diagrams. Click here to learn more.
Satellite Maps Tutorial
The purpose of this tutorial is to get you started drawing in the program as soon as possible. This tutorial will introduce all the basic concepts you need to create drawings. It should only take about 20 minutes to complete the example diagram. Click here to learn more.
CZ Point Cloud Quick Start Tutorial
This tutorial will introduce all the basic concepts you need to create diagrams from the point cloud data that typically captured with a 3D laser scanner. The CZ Point Cloud application uses two separate windows - one to one to display the 3D point cloud and one to display a 2D (top down) view of your diagram. You will perform certain tasks in each of the two windows to create your diagram, but there is only one diagram. For example, as you draw in point cloud window, you will see your diagram being created in a 2D window. Click here to learn more.
