When you are using FARO® software or hardware if you experience poor computer performance, it may be that you are not using the power supply that matches the power requirements for your computer. Here is a list of some of the symptoms you might experience.
- FARO software files do not open
- Files open slowly
- Computer display does not rewrite fast enough
- Computer performance seems slow
- Computer battery charges slowly
The specifications for amps and volts on the back of the computer and those listed on the power supply must match. If in doubt, check the website for your brand of computer to check the power supply requirements for your computer model. If the power supply does not provide enough power to the computer, you might experience the symptoms in the list. If the power supply provides too much power, you can seriously damage your computer.
In a work environment were there are multiple computers and more than one person uses the same computer, if may be advisable to label the computer and matching power supply so that it is clear which power supply belongs with which computer. It may also be advisable to train those using FARO software and hardware that the power supply used with the computer can make a big difference.
