Poor Computer Performance
Overview
If you experience poor computer performance while using FARO® software or hardware, it may be that you are not using the power supply that matches the power requirements for your computer.
Potential symptoms:
- FARO software files do not open
- Files open slowly
- Computer display does not rewrite fast enough
- Computer performance seems slow
- Computer battery charges slowly
The specifications for amps and volts on the back of a computer and those listed on the power supply must match. Be sure to check the manufactures' website to confirm the power supply requirements for your computer model. If the power supply does not provide enough power to the computer, you might experience the symptoms in the list. If the power supply provides too much power, you can seriously damage your computer.
In work environments with multiple computers and people using the same computer, if may be advisable to label the computer and matching power supply to ensure compatibility. It may also be advisable to train those using FARO software and hardware that computer and power supply compatibility can greatly affect computer performance.
