Overview

FaroArm models (and corresponding accessories) are now organized by generation groups. Simply find your model in the FaroArm Models by Generation table to find its “Gen” group classification.

The table below lists the various probe interfaces offered over the years and their corresponding compatibility with FaroArm models . Some older probes can be used with newer FaroArm models with the use of an adapter.

  • 6 Pin Kinematic (non-threaded) Interface
  • Available in two configurations:
    • i-Probe - complete unit with a programmed and certified probe diameter. The FaroArm driver recognizes the diameter of the probe automatically.
    • Universal Adapter/Holder - Accepts any extension or stylus with M4 threads. The user must manually enter the probe tip diameter into the FaroArm driver.

  • 1.40"-32 UNS Internal Thread with PK1 Interface

  • Thread guard ring most be removed from the FaroArm before installation, see: Extension Adapter Installation for the FaroArm.
