Missing Scan Points Near the Bottom of the Scan Area for the Focus3D Laser Scanner
As you can see in this image, the laser scanner captures about a 300 degree view around the Focus3D's vertical axis. The tripod and mount obscures a small area directly below the scanner. This leaves a small gap that the laser beam cannot reach. Consequently, there is a gap where scan points do not exist. The length and width of this gap varies slightly from scanner to scanner. This is a natural part of the Focus3D design and not a quality issue. If your scan project requires full coverage of all scan points, including those directly beneath the scanner, take scans from different angles and positions to better cover the that area.
