Show and Hide Measured Feature Labels in CAM2
Overview
For each measured feature, CAM2® automatically generates a feature label. These labels are displayed as "call-outs" within the main display window. Generally, these labels aid the user in keeping track and identifying features, although in complex projects they can clutter the screen and become a nuisance. Fortunately, CAM2 offers several ways to control the display of these labels.
Show or Hide Individual Labels
- Right-click on the actual label and then check/uncheck the Label menu item.
- Alternately, right-click on the feature name (within the Feature panel), and then check/uncheck the Label menu item.
Show or Hide All Labels
- Click on the View tab. Within the Labels group, click the Show All
or Hide All 
icons.
Enable or Disable Automatic Labeling Display
- Click the File tab (located next to the Home tab).
- In the left panel, click Preferences.
- In the next screen, click on Display in the left panel and then click on the Labels tab.
- Select the Display Behaviour from the drop-down option:
- Last Created – Only show label for last feature created
- Hide All – Do not show labels as features are created
- Show All – Show all labels as features are created
NOTE: Regardless of this setting labels will always be created, this simply controls whether the labels are displayed automatically.
There are several additional settings available to help control label visibility and improve the viewing experience:
Visibility-Based Display
Displays labels only when their associated feature is visible in the current view, helping to reduce on-screen clutter. This can also streamline the creation of Capture Views for reports, as labels are automatically shown or hidden based on feature visibility, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
When disabled, all enabled labels remain visible at all times.
Hide Labels During Measurement
Temporarily hides labels while measurements are being taken, providing a clearer view of the part and measurement features. Once measurement is complete any previously enabled labels will be displayed again.

Front Facing
Keeps labels oriented towards the viewer, ensuring text remains readable regardless of the model's orientation.
When disabled, labels are displayed as 3D objects aligned parallel to the labeled feature. This method can be useful when combined with Visibility Based Display, to quickly create report views, using the viewer preset camera views, avoiding the need to manually show / hide feature labels for each screenshot.
