License GeoSLAM Hub Offline
Overview
This article explains how to install a license using offline activation.
Note: The process requires two machines (one online and one offline)
Procedure
Prior to following the steps below, you must send your licence code to GeoSLAM Support so that they may enable it for offline activation.
- Open the Offline Activation Helper tool on both an online and offline machine (the offline machine is where you want the licence to be installed). Locate the file called "offline-activation-helper-gui.exe" to launch the tool.
- Click on 'Activate'.
- On the online machine, complete Step 1. Input your Hub activation code, then choose a folder location for the description file to be saved. Name it 1.json.
- Transfer this file to the offline machine.
- On the offline machine, fill in your personal details in Step 2. The activation code and licence directory (C:\ProgramData\GeoSLAM Licencing) should already be inputted.
- Click on the three dots next to the 'licence description filepath' box, then navigate to and select the 1.json file created in Step 1.
- Click on the three dots next to the 'request save location' box and save the file in the same location as the 1.json file. Name this 2.bin.
- On the online machine, click the link in Step 3 which will take you to the Customer Licence Portal. Select login 'with Entitlement ID' and input your activation code. Click 'Login'.
- Navigate to the 'Devices' tab and select 'Offline Device Management'.
- Click 'Choose File' and select the 2.bin file.
- Click 'Upload'. You should get a message in green at the top of the screen. Click the link to download the new licence.
- Transfer this file to the offline machine.
- On the offline machine, complete Step 4. The 'licence directory' should be automatically filled. Click on the three dots next to the 'response filepath' box and navigate to the file generated in Step 3.
- Click on 'Process activation response file'.
- You should see a pop-up which reads 'Completed successfully'.
- Open Hub and click on the 'Status' tab - you should now see the licence appear under 'Active'.
The deactivate button will be greyed out as you are not connected to the internet.
To deactivate this license, open the Offline Activation Helper tool and follow the steps under 'Deactivate'.
