Share GeoSLAM Hub Data With Another User
Overview
This article provides instructions on how to send a processed GeoSLAM Hub dataset to another person.
Procedure
To share GeoSLAM Hub data with someone else, you need to share two specific items with them, and they will need to install GeoSLAM Hub themselves which can be downloaded here: Software Download and Release Notes for GeoSLAM Hub.
First, you need to locate the following items in the Hub data. First, open the location of your geoslam-data folder (by default this is located in C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\geoslam-data).
The processed data that GeoSLAM Hub outputs will look like the image below:
This consists of:
- a results folder – in this case ‘2019-05-09_08-40-50_RevoPanoDistillery’
- a processed .geoslam file (this is NOT the raw data that you drag and drop into hub – some changes have been made to this file) which will have the same name as the results folder
You need items in order to be able view this data in Hub.
Note: You are able to change the location of this folder by opening GeoSLAM Hub, clicking on the CONFIG tab > Advanced options > Set Folder.
Once you have sent the items to the other person, ask them to copy and paste both the processed .geoslam file and the results folder into the geoslam-data folder. Once this is done, they need to close Hub and re-open. They should now see the dataset in the datasets list, and from there they can open these in the Hub viewer.
