If FARO Insight does not properly register upon entering the Registration code provided by FARO, the following should be done:
1) Verify the Server Code provided to FARO is correct and does not contain any missing or incorrect digits. The Server Code is a total of 15 numbers.
2) Verify that the Registration Code provided by FARO is correct and does not contain any missing or incorrect digits. The Registration Code is total of 49 numbers.
3) Verify that you have administrator privileges on the computer. Administrator privileges are required to properly install, register and use Insight. Specifically, rights to create / read / write and modify files in the C:\WINDOWS\Smxlmkey folder are needed to properly register and open Insight. However, full create / read / write and modify files in the C:\WINDOWS folder are needed for proper use and functionality of Insight.
4) Verify that the date on the computer is set correctly. If the date on the computer is set incorrectly, then Insight may not register.
