If FARO® Insight does not properly register upon entering the Registration code provided by FARO, the following should be done:
- Verify the Server Code provided to FARO is correct and does not contain any missing or incorrect digits. The Server Code is a total of 15 numbers.
- Verify that the Registration Code provided by FARO is correct and does not contain any missing or incorrect digits. The Registration Code is total of 49 numbers.
- Verify that you have administrator privileges on the computer. Administrator privileges are required to properly install, register and use Insight. Specifically, rights to create / read / write and modify files in the C:\WINDOWS\Smxlmkey folder are needed to properly register and open Insight. However, full create / read / write and modify files in the C:\WINDOWS folder are needed for proper use and functionality of Insight.
- Verify that the date on the computer is set correctly. If the date on the computer is set incorrectly, then Insight may not register.
