Align to Holding Fixture for Part Inspection
This document describes how to align to a holding fixture and dimension length dimensions using a small satellite dish as an example.
Alignment to Contoured Surface
This file explains how to align a part to a CAD model and inspect the surface for location and contour. This method works well for contoured and freeform surfaces.
Changing Layer Color for a Tube
This document demonstrates how to quickly change the color and layer of a measured tube. Placing the measured tube on a different layer (using a different color) than the nominal tube makes it easier to assess where measured geometry deviates from nominal geometry.
Changing the Output Units of the Digital Read Out (DRO)
This file describes how to change the output units of the Digital Read Out (DRO). The DRO shows the real time location of the probe with respect to the origin using the selected coordinate system.
Checking Set-up Stability During a Measurement Session
This document outlines the process for checking set-up stability using control points and a DRO window to monitor the set-up for movement.
Customizing the Command Ribbon
This file details the process to customize the Measure 10 command ribbon. Customize commands, tabs, or create new ribbons.
Back to topDetermining the Diameter of a Taper
This document explains the process for determining the diameter of a taper (the circle formed by the intersection of a cone and plane).
Determining Wall Thickness
This file details the process of determining the thickness of a wall or part material.
Dimensional Inspection of a Truck's Extended Cab
This file details the process of inspecting the interior of a truck and constructing points from measured features to create an alignment.
Dimensional Inspection of a Turbine Housing
This document describes the process measuring the inner and outer diameter of a turbine's conical area, positioning the part and inspecting the part's dimensions.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT) in Measure 10.5 and up
This file explains how the GDT symbols and terms function in Measure 10.
How to Import-Export in Solidworks and CAM2 Measure 10
This document demonstrates how to import and export documents in Measure 10 and Solidworks.
Back to topHow to Make a Repeatable Alignment on a Coil Spring
This file details the process of making a repeatable alignment on a coli spring, including measurement, construction, and creating a coordinate system.
Inserting a JPEG into Graphical Text Report
This document describes how to change the logo image in the upper right corner of a report.
Inserting a Company Logo on to a Report
This document describes how to insert a company logo on to a report.
Inspecting a Round Tube
This file explains how to measure a round tube and compare it to its nominal.
Inspection of Tire Machine Roller Parallelism
This method sheet details how to check the parallelism of a roller compared to a master roller.
Back to topIterative Alignment with Surface Points
This file explains the process of refining the fit to a CAD model with a complex surface. This process is typically done after an initial rough alignment to create an effectively finished alignment.
Material Temperature Compensation
This sheet describes the methodology of compensating for expansion or contraction of a material due to temperature changes.
Measurement of a Roller/Calender for Contour
This document details how to measure or find any contour that might be present in a Calender or Roller assembly down the length of the roller (perpendicular to the direction it rolls). This sheet is designed for using a Laser Tracker, but can be easily adapted to using a FaroArm.
Measuring a Compound Angle
This sheet describes the process of measuring a compound angle. Compound angles are formed by the edges of triangles that lie in different planes.
Moving the Device During Measurement
This document provides general guidelines for performing a simple Move Device command for times when a part or setup cannot be checked from one orientation. A Move Device command is used to reposition the equipment.
Back to topObtaining a Cone Profile
This sheet describes the methodology of scanning the surface of a cone and comparing the data to its respective CAD model to obtain the profile at specified cross sections.
Reverse Engineering an Aircraft Propeller
This file demonstrates the process of reverse engineering an aircraft propeller by scanning cross-sections and exporting the data for analysis.
Tube Correction Report
This document explains how to create a Tube Bend Correction Report for an inspected round tube.
Tube Fitting Application Guide
This file show the process for creating a tube between two open ends and calculating the flow length, diameter, break points, and bender data (pull, turn, bend, radius).
Back to topTubing Terminology
This document presents the different forms of interpretation between the terminologies used in the tube fabrication industry to the data terminology used by Measure 10 software.
Turbine Blade Throat Area
This file explains how to measure the turbine blade throat area (the amount of area that allows fluid flow between blades).
