Macro Downloads for As-Built Modeler

asbuiltmod-bty.png

Overview

As-Built™ Modeler provides macros which can control the actions of external programs from within the As-Built Modeler interface. This considerably speeds up the user’s evaluation of scan data and makes it no longer necessary for a user to switch between As-Built and the target application. Experienced users may adapt the macros at will and create new macros in order to optimize their workflow.

Macro Templates for AutoCAD

  Download

Contains five templates for SendTo AutoCAD macros which the user can adapt to his particular needs. They can also be used for CAD systems similar to AutoCAD like BricsCAD or IntelliCAD. They do not work in AutoCAD LT or other CAD systems without LISP support.

  • BlockT: Template for inserting blocks in AutoCAD (replace the MYBLOCK placeholder by the name of your own block definition)
  • BlockC1: Template for inserting a block at the center of a circle defined by 3 points on its circumference (replace the MYBLOCK placeholder by the name of your own block definition)(To use just select the macro then pick  three  points  in  the  scan  view  and  the block will be placed at the center of the circle that would be created with the three point selection)(WCS only!)
  • BlockC2: Template for inserting a block at the center of a circle defined by 3 points on its circumference (replace the MYBLOCK placeholder by the name of your own block definition)(To use just select the macro then pick  three  points  in  the  scan  view  and  the block will be placed at the center of the circle that would be created with the three point selection)(needs As-Built plugin in AutoCAD)
  • LiOL: Template for drawing a line on a certain layer in AutoCAD (replace the MYLAYER placeholder by the name of the layer you want to draw on)
  • 3DPLL: Template for drawing a 3D polyline on a certain layer in AutoCAD (replace the MYLAYER placeholder by the name of the layer you want to draw on)

Macros for Drawing 2D Plans or Elevations in AutoCAD

  • EDGE: The user can click 2 points (one on face, one on elevation) to construct a perfect edge line of an object; Video 5:29
  • CURV: Splines (curves) the last line added to the drawing. Changes the fit of a line from None to Cubic so that the line appears smooth rather than with vertices; Video 6:15
  • SET / TRAN: Used together to create tubing objects (i.e. conduit, hydraulic lines, electrical lines, hoses, etc.). As-Built needs to be loaded in AutoCAD; Video 6:55
    • Use following settings: Send Mode: SendToAutoCAD/BricsCAD Wait: 50-10-100-200

Macros for Working with As-Built 3 - Paneling

Macros for Civil3D

  Download

Contains specific macros for users who work with AutoCAD Civil3D.

Note: The display settings of the COGO points in the drawing are based on Civil 3D point creation settings. The package also contains a document on how to setup the Civil 3D Point Creation Tools to work with the COGO macros below - TRN_CivilPointCreationTools_R00.pdf

  • BlockT: Template for inserting blocks in AutoCAD (replace the MYBLOCK placeholder by the name of your own block definition)
  • BlockAC: Template for inserting a block at the center of a circle defined by 3 points on its circumference (replace the MYBLOCK placeholder by the name of your own block definition). To use just select the macro then pick three points in the scan view and the block will be placed at the center of the circle that would be created with the three point selection, (needs As-Built plugin in AutoCAD!)
  • COGc: create a COGO point at the center of a circle that is selected by 3 points
  • COGO: creates a COGO point by selecting a point
  • CL0: makes the 0 Layer current in your CAD Drawing - suggested to use this after the COGO Point and COGO @ Cent tools (see note below for more details)
  • Z O L: ZOOM OBJECT LAST macro that zooms to the last object created in a drawing

Note: when using the COGO macros there will be a point on the Defpoints layer where the first point selection of the macro was made. They have been placed on the Defpoints layer so that you can easily cleanup your drawing.

Macros for ALLPLAN

  Download

Contains macros, which are useful when working with ALLPLAN software. In addition to the macros and their icons this ZIP package contains a video and a ReadMe.txt explaining their use.

Macros for Rhino

  Download

Contains macros, which are useful when working with Rhinoceros 3D software. In addition to the macros and their icons this ZIP package contains a PDF file in English with a tutorial on how to use SendTo to create Rhino drawings and models from laser scan data.

SendTo Training Macros

  Download

Combinations of these macros are imported on the second day of As-Built trainings. Macros included are as follows:

  • Slice XY – slices the point cloud parallel to the XY plane of the current UCS between two clicked points of differing Z values - part of traditional additional macros
  • Slice YZ – slices the point cloud parallel to the YZ plane of the current UCS between two clicked points of differing X values - part of traditional additional macros
  • Slice XZ – slices the point cloud parallel to the XZ plane of the current UCS between two clicked points of differing Y values - part of traditional additional macros
  • ZOL – zoom object last – part of traditional additional macros
  • EXT L - extrudes last object in CAD to a height specified by clicking to select a point from the planar view image
  • ROT RECT - allows user to create a rectangle parralel to the XY plane of the current UCS using a 3 point selection method.  The first point is one corner, the second is along an axis from the first corner to specify the rotation of the rectangle, and the third point is opposite from the first to specify length and width of the rectangle.
  • COPY BASE - used to copy the last object created from a basepoint
  • CDS - used in combination with LCDS to create cylindrical and symmetrical objects
  • LCDS used after CDS to loft cross sections together and create a solid model
  • SET SIZE - first step in a series of of 4 used to create a solid model of non standard tubing or hoses
  • TRANSFORM - last step in the series used to create non standard tubing or hoses
  • 2PTLINE – creates a 3d polyline by projecting a point picked on a vertical service down to the elevation of the second point selected and repeating that sequence until the object length has been achieved - part of traditional additional macros
  • CURVE L – changes the fit of a line from None to Cubic so that the line appears smooth rather than with vertices - part of traditional additional macros
  • BAC – to insert a block at the center of a 3pt circle – to customize the definition of the macro to insert a block in your AutoCAD drawing template just replace the text BLOCKNAME with the name of the block you’d like to insert.  To use just select the BAC macro then pick three points in the planar view image and the block will be placed at the center of the circle that would be created with the three point selection.
  • ARRAY L - performs a 3d array of last object created (best use is for stair treads). Uses a 4 step point selection: !st point on bottom tread, second point on top tread, 3rd point same as 1st, 4th point on second tread (to identify spacing between treads)
  • XLV – creates an AutoCAD construction line in the XY plane of the current UCS that is vertical (parallel with Y axis)
  • XLH - creates an AutoCAD construction line in the XY plane of the current UCS that is horizontal (parallel with X axis)
  • XL Angle – creates and AutoCAD construction line in the XY plane of the current UCS through two clicked points.
