Flash Player support removed from SCENE and SCENE Capture
In 2020, Adobe announced that Adobe Flash Player will no longer be supported by Microsoft.
Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Players after December 31, 2020, and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Players to help protect their systems.
Additionally, Microsoft started to roll out a Windows update that will disable the Flash player on Windows systems.

SCENE Behavior after Flash Removal Patch (SCENE <= 2020.0.4)
The installation of SCENE will be completed normally without any error messages, even if the option to install the Flash Player is still selected.
When starting SCENE with the Classic UI for the first time, an error message “Error CODE: 190” will appear:
Click “OK” to continue.
The automatic start of the project selector in Classic UI will be disabled next time.
The Flash-based Scanner Administration will also not be available.
After the error no crashes or cryptic errors should occur, unless the Flash-based is started feature manually.
What to expect with SCENE 2020.0.5 (Jan 2021) and beyond
SCENE 2020.0.5 is the first patch of SCENE released after Flash is no longer supported.
FARO has removed Flash player option from the SCENE installer and disabled all related features (Classic UI Project Selector and Scanner Administration View).
