Georeferencing Process with GeoSLAM Draw
Overview
This article describes how to georeference in GeoSLAM Draw.
Procedure
Note: It is advisable to have a prior knowledge of basic GeoSLAM Draw functionality
- Open the Draw project as below
- Select the 3D point tool either from the main toolbar -> Modules -> 3D point or directly from the menu as below
- Place all 3D-points to your control points. Multiview option in the Job-Editor will allow you to check 3D-point in the section view to check z. This is useful with any elevated points, like building corners.
- Select from the main toolbar the transform calculator where you will georeference the model (main toolbar -> registration -> transform calculator) – as below.
- Import the control points from the prompted windows by clicking on “add” in the screenshot below and then browse to the file where the control points are saved, respectively. Click import to import the points
- You will be able to see in the 1st window the control points, in the 2nd window the points you have selected in the model and on the 3rd window, you will see the delta RMS for each point by clicking on “find constellations”.
- Check the residuals, transformation parameters and RMS.
Note: You can change the 'max difference' setting to be higher if no constellations are found but this will make the georeferencing less accurate. If satisfied with the results press Create Align. This will transform the pointcloud data to the geodetic system you have set and generate new orthophoto views. If you are not satisfied with the results, you will need to re-choose the points in accordance to Step 3.
