Here is what is included in each warranty plan offered by FARO® for the Cobalt Design.

* Shipping charges exclude custom brokerage fees, duties, taxes, and VAT. Shipping charges to a FARO Service center will be covered if the unit fails within 90 days of a repeat service or the initial ship date.
** For warranties that include annual service inspections, service inspections are only active during the life of the warranty
Overview
Your FARO® device is a precision tool. Sending it to the factory for periodic service inspections enhances its performance and accuracy. To make sending in your device easy and convenient, FARO offers several types of warranty plans. Here we provide details about plan options. All plans come in 1-year or 3-year packages and monthly extensions are also available.
NOTE: Misuse, abuse, wear and tear, environmental or natural disasters, and other unwarranted damages are not covered by any warranty plan.
Manufacturer's 12-Month Warranty
This plan is automatically applied upon purchase at no additional cost. The end date of this warranty coverage is always the exact day, one year after the initial ship date and is not renewable. This warranty plan includes the following coverage:
- Free technical support: email, phone, and self-help knowledge base
- Parts, labor, and return shipping charges*
- Service completion target of 14 working days from receipt of your device
* Shipping charges exclude custom brokerage fees, duties, taxes, and VAT
Plate Measurement Warranty
This plan can be purchased at any time and applies only to the Calibration Plate. This warranty plan includes the following coverage:
- Free technical support: email, phone, and self-help knowledge base
- Shipping charges to and from the factory (plate only)*
- Annual Calibration Plate Measurement, with loaner during service time

Premium Warranty
This plan can be purchased at any time during an active Manufacturer's Warranty. This warranty plan includes the following coverage:
- Free technical support: email, phone, and self-help knowledge base
- Service completion target of 14 working days from receipt of your device
- Repair parts and labor
- Shipping charges to and from the factory (plate only)*
- Shipping charges from the factory (main unit)*
- Annual Calibration Plate Measurement, with loaner during service time

Premium Plus Warranty
This plan can be purchased at any time during an active Manufacturer's or Premium Warranty. This warranty plan includes everything in the Premium Warranty plus the following coverage:
- Shipping charges to the factory (main unit)*
- One Annual Service Inspection
- Loaner device shipped the next business day for all services, including annual inspection and repairs

Keep Your Maintenance/Warranty Plan Current
By keeping your warranty current and active, you will gain peace of mind knowing that repair and service costs are completely covered. Loaner equipment is also available to minimize any potential downtime (Premium Plus plan only). Additionally, you will have access to our 24x7 self-help Knowledge Base, our personalized FARONow! portal and FARO certified customer support from experienced agents during normal business hours.
