FARO uses SafeNet/Gemalto, Sentinel HASP, to provide product license keys for all FARO software, whether you use a dongle/portlock or a product license key that you type into the FARO software. The Sentinel HASP driver uses communications port 1947 on your computer. Make sure applications other than Sentinel HASP and firewalls do not block this port.
Port 1947 is registered with the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) by Aladdin/SafeNet/Gemalto. If other applications are running on this port, they may prevent the licensing and use of FARO software. To correct this problem, contact your IT department and ask them to reassign the communications port for applications other than Sentinel HASP and allow port 1947 to be accessed through the corporate firewall.
