Connecting Multiple Laser Trackers to One Computer
Overview
Multiple Trackers can be connected to one computer by using a network hub or switch. Use a standard "straight through" Ethernet cable instead of the supplied crossover cable for connections between the tracker and hub/switch.
You must change the IP address of the additional Trackers from the default IP address of 128.128.128.100. Typically, an IP address of 128.128.128.101 is used for the second Tracker, 128.128.128.102 for the third, etc. To change the IP address of each Tracker, refer to the following article: Changing the Default IP Address of the Laser Tracker
You can also connect multiple Trackers to a wireless router (in place of the hub or switch). Then the connection from the computer to the router can be made wirelessly instead of an Ethernet cable. For instructions on how to set up a Wireless Router to be used for WiFi connection to a tracker(s), refer to the following article:Set up a Wireless Router to Enable a Wifi Connection to the FARO Laser Tracker.
