Overview
This video will show the export of an existing SCENE project to a Sphere WebShare project and then creating/processing the 3D data directly in Sphere.
Troubleshooting
SCENE Upload Errors 39961 and 39938
For SCENE users trying to upload to WebShare and receiving errors related to migration to Sphere XG and the workspace being on view mode.
Why are you receiving this error message?
As you may be aware, WebShare and Sphere (legacy) has been in the process of being migrated to the upgraded unified platform called Sphere XG where all reality capture data, from 360 capture, point clouds, and 3D models can live on the same web based cloud platform to be shared with collaborators or customers.
As part of the migration process, once your data is migrated from Sphere (legacy) / WebShare to Sphere XG, the workspace in the WebShare site becomes View only. This means you are able to see the projects but you are not able to edit or upload any additional data or make changes. As a result, if you try using the previous workflow to upload from SCENE to WebShare, you will receive a message that warns you about this:
How Can I upload a Point Cloud to Sphere XG?
If you have already been migrated, you should already have an account with Sphere XG and you may access your projects and upload a point cloud or a 3D model through the Sphere XG website. Or you may use SCENE 2024 (currently in beta version) or later to upload directly from SCENE.
Please refer to the following article on the Sphere XG website for additional information: How to import Point Cloud Models on the Sphere XG Viewer
