The FARO^® LEC-2 Laser Embedded Controller is a compact, self-contained 20-bit controller that provides advanced hardware and software control technology to drive galvanometer-based laser scanning systems. Designed for high-speed manufacturing environments that perform dynamic laser marking, the LEC-2 provides integrated synchronized I/O for connection to factory automation equipment.

With the release of As-Built™ for AutoCAD^® Software and As-Built™ for Autodesk Revit^® 2018, FARO^® puts PointSense and associated Plugins to legacy status.

• As-Built for Autodesk Revit replaces PointSense for Revit. It contains all functionality of former PointSense for Revit.
• As-Built for AutoCAD Software replaces PointSense for AutoCAD as well as the other FARO AutoCAD plugins (TachyCAD/DistToPlan for AutoCAD, PhoToPlan for AutoCAD, hylasFM/MonuMap for AutoCAD).
• As-Built Suite replaces PointSense Suite. It contains As-Built for AutoCAD and As-Built for Revit.

Released 7 Aug 2018. Perfectly suited for challenging 3D measuring applications, the FARO^® 8-Axis Design ScanArm seamlessly integrates a portable measuring Arm with an 8th-axis. This innovative feature enables the part to be rotated in real time relative to the Arm versus requiring the Arm to be moved around the part. Active development has been suspended for WebShare Enterprise. This software is now in Legacy status. FARO supports Legacy software for the length of time stated in your license agreement. These articles will remain available for your convenience.

Released on 12 Apr 2022. WebShare Cloud is a cloud-based hosting platform, offering real-time access to the latest reality data for worldwide project management and BIM workflows. It supports 3D reality data of unlimited size and independent of their source of capture to be stored, viewed, evaluated and shared from authorized persons only, anywhere and at any time using a web browser. All common industry standard formats for downloading reality data are supported, enabling seamless and collaborative Scan-to-BIM workflows.

SCENE 2go, released on 15 Feb 2018, is a secure, non-internet based project sharing solution for SCENE software users (version 7.1 or later). It is the successor of WebShare 2Go, with several improvements and new features. SCENE 2go consists of an App and a Viewer.

SCENE 2go solution makes it easy to share read-only scan projects with partners and customers. Users simply save scan projects on a USB drive or any other external storage medium and view it on a Windows^® or MacOS^® computer without the need of an internet connection. As an extension of FARO’s renowned Focus 3D Laser Scanners, Swift provides the most accurate measurements wherever needed – providing better data, faster. 

Swift is a lightweight, highly portable device unequaled in its versatility, and combines the FARO Focus Laser Scanner with a FARO ScanPlan 2D mapper and FARO’s revolutionary SCENE mobile laser scanning software. Not only does Swift provide its users with a superior 3D mobile laser scanning system, the stationary option allows users to have well-known FARO Focus accuracy wherever clarity and precision is needed. 

Released 22 Aug 2018. The Tracer^SI is the only laser projection system on the market that fully supports targetless, Feature-Based Alignment. Retroflectors are not required to perform alignment for templating. Feature-Based Alignment compares known features (holes, corners) on the object or assembly to the CAD model to perform alignment. Users can align large volume, “no touch” parts to facilitate accurate and repeatable projection schemes. Feature-Based Alignment reduces the time and effort required to set up for a laser-guided assembly project. Target-based or a hybrid target/targetless alignment capability are also supported.

IPV, a FARO^®-exclusive feature on the Tracer^SI, offers valuable quality-assurance checkpoints during and after critical assembly processes. Throughout the assembly process, using BuildIT Projector software and advanced imaging, the Tracer^SI scans the surface and detects errors in real time. The IPV process verifies the presence or absence of features, the position of objects, and can even detect foreign object debris (FOD) that might remain in the finished assembly.

FARO Visual Inspect is a powerful mobile solution to control production processes. It allows for intuitive viewing as well as the use of complex 3D data of parts and assemblies and additional information such as process and workflow details on an iPad®.

Visual Inspect AR expands the functionality of Visual Inspect and provides innovative Augmented Reality to the base package. The Visual Inspect CAD Translator allows operators to convert 3D data into a highly compressed format for optimal data management in Visual Inspect.
